Littleton 1st team finished 5th in Division 1. They were in the promotion places for a lot of the season but late rallies by others pushed them down to 5th. Nevertheless it is the highest position of their history and was a wonderful performance by a mixture of youth and experience. Manager Andy Robbins is looking forward to next season. During this season they had a 13 game unbeaton run and Matt Layton ended leading scorer in Division One (32 goals) and leading scorer overall in the Midland Combination. They also won the Evesham Hospital Saturday Junior Cup. A pretty good season despite the disappointment of ending outside the promotion places.
Littleton Reserves finished 10th in Division 3 and were runners up in the Evesham Hospital Minor Cup final. This was another tough, sometimes disappointing season for the Reserves but their young side is growing in stature and manager Ally Hay says that, with some additions lined up for next season, they are confident of improving their performance.
Next season sees the possibility of a Littleton Youth team at under 17 or under 18 level, and a Littleton Ladies team, playing at Five Acres on Sundays. Final details are to be confirmed as soon as possible.
Littleton Football Club committee would like to congratulate both teams on their 2008 - 2009 season, and wish them well for 2009 - 2010. We look forward to welcoming Littleton Youth and Littleton Ladies teams. Thank you to all supporters of Littleton FC, where we regularly see gates of 50 people or more. Pretty good for a village football club. And finally our sponsors. A big thank you to our sponsors as it is you, and the supporters, that enable Littleton FC to provide the facilities and support for the teams. Our aim is to continue with improvements and we hope you will continue your sponsorship and support in coming seasons. |

Littleton 1st Team won the Evesham Hospital Saturday Junior Cup on 9th May, beating Bretforton 3 - 2.
In a very scrappy game Bretforton took the lead twice but Littleton were awarded a penalty close to the end of time which was converted by Layton.
Norman Green presented the trophies to disappointed runners-up Bretforton, and delighted winners Littleton. |
